Sermon 3: The Path of Least Resistance

Your life on earth is very important to God. During your time on earth, God has set you upon a path that leads you, the creations He loves unconditionally, to develop the qualities that will allow you to make a choice to accept Heaven, to accept good without evil.
In the story of the Garden of Eden, the creation of the Garden shows us that what God really wishes for us is eternal life in Paradise. The Fall of the Garden of Eden is proof that Heaven will not be handed to us on a silver platter. This is by God’s design.

It is proven on earth because we commonly accept that the greatest victories are the hard-won victories. Overcoming perceived hardships on your earthly path to Heaven makes your final acceptance of never-ending blissful joy the sweetest victory of all.

Knowledge was chosen over faith, trust and love of God by Adam and Eve, and by extension has been chosen by each of us. No one begins the journey to Heaven with an absolute acceptance of it. In fact, I believe that while developing each heavenly trait in ourselves we pass from denial to acceptance in the same hard-fought stages that are widely used in theories of overcoming grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally, acceptance.

What can be done to make your path to Heaven a path of the least resistance? You must maximize the acceptance of your heavenly qualities while minimizing the time spent on denial, anger, bargaining and depression.

To do this, you must recognize the traits you need to develop to accept the limitless good of Heaven. Pay close attention to the lessons God is teaching you – they are all designed to turn negative characteristics into positive, heavenly ones. When difficult times are upon you, they are there to teach you something. Perhaps you still have something to learn about being selfish, about being intolerant, about loving others, about loving yourself.

So, to make your path the path of least resistance, be the type of person today that you expect to be when you get to Heaven. When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge, it illustrated that we all are infused with the knowledge of what is good and what is bad. You know you know it because, when you are about to step into a direction that is “bad”, you begin to THINK. When you step in the direction of “good”, you do so with faith, trust and love.

Accept your path and your joyous destiny today. Treat others and yourself the way you imagine you will be treating them in Heaven. Check in moment by moment with God – He is watching your path very closely and is available for help at any time.

As always, thank you very much for reading our sermons and we hope they will help you find easier ways to cope with “bumps” in your life’s path. If you would like more personalized direction in an area of difficulty, please email us at candylovespop2@yahoo.com.
